Marine Enforcement Unit

The Amador County Sheriff’s Marine Enforcement Unit is funded by the California Department of Boating and Waterways. The Marine Enforcement Unit consists of one full time Deputy and several additional Deputies during major holiday weekends, summer months and special events.

The Marine Enforcement Unit is tasked with enforcing the Harbor and Navigations Code, assisting boaters in distress, investigating boating accidents and drownings, and conducting water safety presentations. The Marine Enforcement Unit patrols several waterways in Amador County open to boaters including; Lake Camanche, Lake Pardee, Lake Amador, Bear River Reservoir, and Silver Lake.Our fleet consists of a North River jet boat, Thunder Jet boat, Achilles inflatable dive boat and two Kawasaki Jet Skis. All of our vessels are extremely maneuverable and are operable in just a few feet of water.
