The Amador County Sheriff’s office is dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to our community by adhering to our Organizational Values of Service, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence at all times.
Amador County was established in 1854 and in that same year the Amador County Sheriff’s Office was formed under Sheriff William Phoenix. As the 25th elected Sheriff of Amador County it is my responsibility to carry on the tradition of protecting our citizens by utilizing all resources at my disposal. It is also my responsibility to ensure that all Deputy Sheriff’s, Correctional Officers, Dispatchers, and Sheriff’s Services personnel under my command do their part to uphold our time honored traditions.
Amador County is one of the smaller Sheriff’s Offices among the 58 in California, having a population of approximately 38,000 and covering approximately 603 square miles. Smaller however, does not mean less professional. By hiring the finest talent available, and utilizing the benefits of emerging technologies, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office has some of the best equipped and best trained professional staff in the state of California. Plus we have the benefit of being able to work closely with a very supportive community and law enforcement partners.
